Brindisi all’Eccellenza: Il Turismo che Celebra Talento, Inclusione e Innovazione

A Toast to Excellence: Tourism Honouring Talent, Inclusion, and Growth

“The end of labor is to gain leisure” (Aristotle). A pearl of wisdom that we see perfectly paired with a glass of good wine as fruit of sun-kissed vineyards on the Italian rolling hills of and the passion of expert winemakers (like Bosco del Sasso in the Oltrepò Pavese), and capable of leading you on sensory journey involving all five senses.

Italian excellence that we can see expressed in a myriad of companies and people dedicating themselves entirely to work and growth, and contributing not only to their own success, but to that of the entire country. Those who fall in love with Italy, in fact, do so also thanks to them. Wine tourism – with the experiences connected to it – represents one of the determining factors in luxury tourism precisely because of the uniqueness that it can offer. From the landscape that welcomes the vineyards, to the quality of the vine, through the love and care paid in cultivating the vines, up to the process that leads the grapes to transform into an elixir.

In excellence, and thanks to it, the tourism sector grows and acquires ever greater value. Excellence and value therefore deserve tangible recognition: an award that celebrates the dedication of entrepreneurs, industry leaders and managers who have significantly contributed to the growth, innovation, and sustainability of tourism.

“The idea of gifting Italy and its tourism sector a specially conceived award- dedicated to a vital industry – fills me with emotion, just as seeing so many remarkable professionals come together to celebrate their achievements does. Italy is rich in outstanding talents, all of whom deserve recognition and appreciation.” commented Deborah Garlando, CEO of MHR and creator of the award, during the award ceremony of the 2024 edition. These words found the full support of Palmiro Noschese, President of the Jury and supporter of this ambitious project since the beginning, who underlined: “We will continue to elevate this project, making it an even more attractive and influential platform. With each edition, we expect more candidates, reflecting an ever-expanding industry that is essential to our nation’s success.

Beyond celebrating excellence, the awards ideated by MHR also reinforce a commitment to fostering talent and inclusion. Since 2021, during the awards ceremony, Palmiro Noschese has presented a scholarship (in cooperation with AIPD – Associazione Italiana Persone Down) to a young trainee, highlighting the event’s dedication to professional development and equal opportunities in the sector, but also the enormous attention towards continuous training and the need, which has now become urgency, of attracting young talents to the industry.

This is where “Star Way” comes into play—a groundbreaking docu-experience designed to captivate young professionals and reignite their passion for the industry. By blending educational content with an immersive, engaging format, “Star way” offers a fresh perspective on career opportunities in tourism, bridging the gap between tradition and innovation. With an ever-growing international reach and recognition, the MHR awards stand as a beacon of excellence and a catalyst for the future of the industry, ensuring that Italy continues to lead the way in hospitality and tourism innovation.
