Operativa Arte Contemporanea è entusiasta di presentare Danse Royale inedita installazione video di Emiliano Maggi (Roma 1977).
L’opera riesce a racchiudere in sè tutto l’onirico mondo dell’artista; il video ci sprofonda in un’irreale e contradditoria atmosfera, a tratti cerimonia ancestrale e tenebrosa, concitata festa pagana e gioioso ballo di famiglia inebriato dalla follia di una nottata estiva.
La sfaccettata ricerca dell’artista ha sempre saputo coniugare scenari psichedelici a simbolismo mitologico, ritualità e iconografia rurale fatta di fiaba e sogno a ipnotiche ambientazioni da horror nostrano anni ‘70. Il tutto raccontato con una poliedrica produzione che spazia dalla performance alla produzione di gioielli, dall’acclamatissimo progetto musicale Estasy a lavori fotografici e pittorici.
La galleria inaugura con Danse Royale il ciclo Due o tre cose che piacciono a me, tre presentazioni di tre singole opere a breve distanza tra loro che impegneranno tutta la programmazione primaverile. Un tentativo di mostrare tre incredibili lavori, che per la loro unicità e portata museale incredibilmente sembrano raccontare tutto il senso della ricerca dell’artista. Provando così a superare in maniera dinamica e incisiva i tempi, le aspettative e le pretese di quello che chiamiamo “mostra personale”.
Emiliano Maggi (Roma 1977) vive e lavora a Roma. Operativa Arte Contemporanea is thrilled to present Danse Royale, a new video installation by Emiliano Maggi (Rome 1977).
The work manages to wrap itself around the dreamlike world of the artist; the video takes us in an unreal and contradictory atmosphere at times gloomy ancestral ceremony, an excited pagan feast and joyful family dance inebriated by a summer night’s madness.
The multi-faceted artist’s research has always succeeded in combining psychedelic scenarios to mythological symbolism, rituality and rural iconography made of fairy tale and dream to hypnotic scenes as in local 70 ‘s horror movies. All narrated with a polyhedric production that ranges from performance to jewellery production, from the praised musical project Estasy to pictorial and photographic works.
The Gallery opens with Danse Royale the cycle “Due o tre cose che piacciono a me“ (Two or three things that I like), three presentations of three individual works short distanced that will occupy the entire spring schedule. An attempt to show three incredible work, which for their uniqueness and museum scope incredibly seem to tell all the sense of the artist’s research. Trying to overcome in a dynamic and timing way, expectations and demands of what we call “solo exhibition”.
Emiliano Maggi (Rome 1977) lives and works in Rome.
